In the Blue Cave – Žanjice tour, we’ll take a relaxing break at one of the most popular beaches in the area – Žanjice Beach, known for its crystal-clear water. The beach is lined with restaurants and cafés, so you can enjoy a delicious lunch alongside your swim.
We’ll also go to the Blue Cave – one of the most beautiful natural phenomena in Montenegro. To preserve this delicate ecosystem, the cave is now a protected viewing-only site. We will bring you right to the entrance for an unforgettable view before anchoring in the crystal-clear waters behind the cave where you can dive in and swim.
The other part of the tour focuses on man-made historical wonders. We’ll visit a Cold War-era submarine tunnel (built in the 1970s to shelter up to two submarines from surveillance and attacks, used until the early 1990s), and enjoy a panoramic view of Mamula Island with its iconic fort. Originally built by the Austrians in the mid-19th century, Fort Mamula was later used as a prison during both World Wars. Today, it has been transformed into a luxury hotel.
We'll also see Fort Arza, another Austrian stronghold that worked alongside Mamula to guard the entrance to the bay.
All of our tours to Žanjice depart the beach at 18:00 for the return trip to Herceg Novi.
